Computed Tomography Scan
A computed tomography (CT) scan is an imaging method that uses x-rays to create pictures of cross-sections of the body.A CT scan is used to define normal and abnormal structures in the body and/or assist in procedures by helping to accurately guide the placement of instruments or treatments.
CT scanning is useful to get a very detailed 3D image of certain parts of the body, such as soft tissues, the pelvis, blood vessels, the lungs, the brain, abdomen, and bones.
It is often the preferred method in detecting tumors (both malignant and benign) with exact size and location. It is also used in detecting bleeding of arteries and swelling in the brain – lacerations in liver , kidney and spleen etc. Further it can also provide valuable data on vascular and skeletal structure.
Both our centers at Coles Park and RT Nagar has facilities for CT scans , with most advanced scanning equipment with very experienced radiologists.
